Sitcom closing credits now gone on Cable Television
No matter what cable channel you are watching you will see the same pattern after the show has ended which is quiet endings.. Years ago you could watch the closing credits while listening to the theme song but now you get a smaller version and no closing theme song. This has been a ongoing pattern for sitcoms on cable television for the past 3 years and more stations are taking the same route. So when you watch sitcoms on cable today not only do you see several commercials, you get treated to a revamped version of closing credits so the network can promote another show. Guess we can expect the opening credits to be removed in 2012 so viewers can be reminded to watch other sitcoms while they are trying to focus on the sitcom they are watching.

The U.S. President appearing on Late Night Talk Shows?
President Obama appeared on Jay Leno tonight to discuss important topics like Chicken and Waffles, Halloween, Sports, and Reality TV. Nothing about the struggling economy or the high number of unemployment which are far more important issues. But since when does anyone appear on Jay leno to have serious discussions? It's supposed to be joking around and having fun no matter how many problems the country has right now.. I guess it's appropriate for the president to ignore what's going on in the country because you are only supposed to make people laugh on Jay Leno. Also there was never any appearances by a U.S. president on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson between 1962 and 1992. But from 2008 to 2011, this current president has made two appearances on the Tonight Show which confirms this is now a strange world of 2011 Television.

Why watch sitcoms on network TV when the longer version is on the internet?
I watch the NBC show, "The Office" every Thursday and started to notice something strange. It appears that the network version of each episode is edited to make room for more commercials which something you normally see on cable. But fans now have the option to watch episodes on the internet which has additional scenes that were removed from the network TV version. So no more watching sitcoms on network TV since the internet gives you more footage and less commercials. Since network television has changed I will now connect my Laptop to my Flat screen TV on Thursday nights to watch sitcoms and keep up with ongoing stupidity in today's TV world.

Silly Promotion of CBS Sitcom
Last week there was a guest on the NFL Today Pregame Show which was obvious what CBS wanted to accomplish by move. The guest was Billy Gardell, star of the CBS sitcom Mike and Molly, who predicted the outcome of NFL games with the rest of the guys on the panel. I guess this is the new way for networks to promote sitcoms in 2011 which probably will be followed by Zooey Deschanel from the Fox sitcom New Girl appearing on the Fox NFL Pregame show before the end of the season. I wonder if Carrroll O' Connor ever sat next to Brent Musburger on the NFL Today set in the late 70's to talk football?

NFL Pregame Shows in 2011
It used to be a time when a NFL Pregame show was only 30 mins long and consisted of just three guys on the set. Now in 2011, there are 4 Pregame shows and 2 of them are 3 hours long which is the NFL Network and ESPN. Even though Fox and CBS Pregame Shows are only an hour the one thing all the pregame shows have in common is a crowded set. Does it really take five guys to talk about the NFL every Sunday morning? It's just silly that more former NFL players are added to a pregame show to talk about something that only takes 30 minutes. I guess we can expect NFL Pregame shows to start at 8am in five years with 2 more guys added to the show to talk about the same topic, "football."

Reality TV is just becoming more ridiculous each year
It doesn't seem like it was that long ago when reality TV was actually something fun to watch like Blind Date, and the 5th Wheel. Even the dating shows on MTV like Next was something creative and interesting but now the reality shows are pure garbage. Now MTV has just put any reality show on the air like Teen mom, Jersey Shore, and She really going out with him. And VH1 has it's own list of crazy reality shows like Basketball Wives, and Single Ladies which is another example of forced drama which seems to be catching on with lots of viewers. Watching these shows makes the year of 1999 seem like it was 20 years ago since crazy has become the new normal. Something tells me future reality shows in 2016 will be called "Single Pregnant Mom, Jersey Shore Teens, She Really Married Him?, Older Basketball Wives, and Still Single Ladies.
Lazy Programming on the NFL Network
The NFL preseason is now in session and the NFL Network decided to air a marathon of preseason games everyday this week. Since when has a NFL fan been interested in watching a entire preseason game that has no meaning at all? The starters play one quarter and the rest of the game is strictly for evaluation purposes. And to see the same preseason game that just aired the day before shows laziness by the network and proves the programming department is on vacation. So in 2011 a football network is airing games that serves no purpose to the fan, just the coaches evaluating who to cut at the end of August. Maybe football fans should just cut off the NFL Network until September 8, 2011.
